Here are three ways to prevent high winds and storms from damaging your trees.

Keep Your Soil Healthy

Don’t be afraid to get your hands dirty. The soil around your trees have a direct impact on your trees health and can be a good indicator of their state. If the dirt seems dry or cracked, it’s likely your roots aren’t getting the moisture they need. If the growing process seems to have slowed significantly or the tree seems to be especially susceptible to diseases, it’s a good idea to add mulch to the soil.

Keep A Lower Profile

Storm force winds can uproot a tree and send it flying into a home, car, street or anything else that stands in it’s way. Often times, thick branches and leaves make it easy for winds to exert more force on the tree. By pruning the branches, wind passes through them much more easily, lessening the likelihood that winds can knock them over, this is typically the most effective option at keeping your trees and the rest of your property safe.

I had three trees that needed to be cut back and got two estimates from other tree companies. I wanted to get one more estimate when a friend recommended Tarzan Tree Service. I am glad he did because they were professional, extremely thorough with the job and the safety of the workers and property. Plus their estimate for the job was more affordable than the other two companies. They showed up when they said they would, they finished the job in a timely manner, and did a full clean up. They have a wood chipper that they put the branches through so my wife could spread them around her garden this spring. My wife and me couldn't be happier.
